In February 2017, GGP Systems Limited celebrated twenty-five years at the forefront of the development of modern Geographic Information Systems.

GGP has launched numerous state-of-the-art GIS and Address Management solutions for the public sector during our 25-year journey and has continued to pioneer the development of corporate GIS for Local Authorities in the UK, as well as innovative developments in the areas of gazetteer management systems, web-delivered mapping technology and highly interoperable solutions for shared services.

From its inception, GGP Systems has gone on to develop solutions for the Emergency Services – securing a national contract with the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPA), Fire and Rescue Services, housing and environmental service organisations.

The company’s main objectives have always centred on improving the capability, usability and reliability of GIS, Gazetteer Management, and Street Naming and Numbering solutions for use within the public sector – both for the desktop and web mapping environments.Since our founding in 1992, GGP’s products, employees, and our first class customer support have kept us on the leading edge of GIS and we celebrate our companies achievements, built upon innovative designs and the entrepreneurial spirit.

“The market has changed a great deal over twenty-five years, but we continually embrace change and adapt our solutions to meet the needs of our users in local government and the emergency services. Our solutions are designed to offer real value for money — something our loyal customers recognise and appreciate,” comments Managing Director and founder Tim Maxwell. “Over the past twenty-five years, we have remained a privately-owned, UK-based, independent business that is financially stable and dedicated to a set of core values including an ethos of honesty, integrity, and excellence in customer service.”

“Today budgets are under tight scrutiny within local authorities and the public sector in general. New efficiencies are needed in order to deliver services at lower cost,” continues Tim. “To address this, we are developing systems that allow unrivalled levels of interoperability, enabling data held in other systems, including GIS, to be easily accessed and shared via desktop, web or cloud based solutions. We are also leading the field in open systems, allowing organisations to freely use different spatial database platforms.”

We are proud of our achievements over the past 25 years and we look forward to continuing our commitment to GIS and Address Management solutions throughout the UK over the next 25 years.
