eNGz web gazetteer search engineCroydon, UK, 06 November 2012 – A new web-based innovation will allow Local Authorities to instantly access essential address details. The sophisticated search engine, developed by GGP Systems, is designed to speed up corporate wide access to essential address data, boosting efficiency and service delivery.  The web based gazetteer tool, GGP eNGz, is capable of returning results within two seconds of posting a query – even when accessing a national dataset comprising of millions of complex address records.

“GGP eNGz has been developed in partnership with some of the most demanding users of address information,” commented Tim Maxwell, Managing Director and founder of South London based GGP Systems. “It has been designed to provide reliable, responsive and above all fast results to complex queries when speed and accuracy are truly critical. Already in use within one of the Country’s leading police support organisation, GGP eNGz has been developed for the frontline of 999 emergency call handling and can therefore perform in many other markets.”

GGP eNGz is a next generation web based gazetteer search engine. It is easy to use with advanced search options including intelligent single line searching, customisable dictionaries of abbreviations and aliases, and drop down boxes of search matches. GGP eNGz is also capable of informing results through adjacent property searches allowing users to query by ‘what can you see?’ and ‘what are you next to?’ for example. Query results are returned as markers on a map and GGP eNGz allows users to feedback corrections and or additions to the gazetteer data.

“At a time when all organisations are experiencing high demand for services coupled with reduced resources to react to these demands GGP eNGz gives staff access to essential address information at the touch of a button,” continued Maxwell. “This improves customer service, reduces unnecessary demands placed on back office staff and allows a truly joined up approach either within an organisation or between partner organisations.”

GGP eNGz, which offers advanced search options based on easy address lookup facilities, is the latest addition to the award winning range of Gazetteer Management Software from Croydon based IT company GGP Systems. Specifically developed to ensure a consistent, up to date and accurate base for all property based information within an organisation GGP software also manages the import and export of data between the local authority databases and the NLPG, the national hub. The complete product suite was one of the first software solutions to receive accreditation for address data transfer (DTF 7.3), is fully compliant with BS7666.
