Croydon, UK, 24 October 2007 - GGP Systems is celebrating major success after its local authority sites won recognition at a prestigious national award ceremony held in Leicester. GGP's gazetteer management software is being used by four award winning Local Authorities to help improve service delivery, increase operational efficiency and meet government legislation. The exemplary work of Plymouth, Blackpool, Tandridge and Suffolk Coastal, in creating, implementing and managing a centralised address database was recognised at The National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) Exemplar Awards 2007.
The NPLG is a new definitive national address database that provides a unique fingerprint of every property in England and Wales. It is revolutionising local government services by allowing quick, easy access to public information. The Awards were jointly presented by Intelligent Addressing and the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) and recognise outstanding service delivery by local authorities through the use of their land and property database and street gazetteer.
Plymouth City Council received the NLPG Best Business Transformation Award in acknowledgement of their hard work and vision in creating and implementing a single address resource that is facilitating significant gains in efficiency and service to the direct benefit of Council staff, third party organisations and the public. Suffolk Coastal District Council were awarded Runner Up in the same category for their transformation of essential council services, improved customer satisfaction and achievement of tangible savings and benefits, while Blackpool Council were Highly Recommended for a range of transformational services built around the NLPG.
Tandridge District Council narrowly missed out on receiving the award for NLPG Best Performing Authority with an impressive score of 205.46 points out of a possible maximum 206. Pat Porter, LLPG Custodian at Tandridge District Council, was also presented with the award for NLPG Best Performing Region as Chair of the South East Region.
All four Councils are users of GGP's gazetteer management software, NGz. GGP NGz is specifically designed to manage a Council's Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG); ensuring a consistent, up to date and accurate base for all property based information within the organisation. GGP NGz also provides an interface between the local authority database, other council property database systems and the NLPG central hub. The new NLPG: 2006 BS766 standard data transfer format, DTF 7.3, includes additional address details including the ability to record the name of occupiers of commercial buildings, land use classifications and associated ward and parish, and GGP NGz was only the second solution to receive accreditation to this standard.
GGP Systems design software solutions specifically for local authorities. They provide Councils with easy to use solutions for the creation and management of corporate property databases, the ability to add and use a spatial element to all location based information and a range of solutions to meet e-Government directives.
