GGP launch GIS package for Housing Associations
GGP for housingGGP Systems has announced ‘GGP Move' a start-up geographical mapping PC package to help Housing organisations improve the management of their properties and services. The package includes licences of GGP's Geographical Information System (GIS), together with a complete installation, training and support programme to ensure the effective use of GIS and map based data throughout and organisation. GGP Move is a complete solution for Social Landlords, Housing Associations and Local Authority organisations that provide and maintain social housing and related services.

GGP Move includes a strategic review of an organisation's existing software, hardware and data. GGP Consultants will work closely with an organisation to ensure effective integration, data accuracy and integrity and a return on investment prior to installation, they can even negotiate with the Ordnance Survey on behalf of an organisation to secure the most cost effective licensing option.

The standard GGP Move configuration includes five concurrent licences for GGP GIS enabling users throughout an organisation to access and manage geographically enabled information. A fully managed software installation process ensures GGP GIS is integrated with existing IT solutions for example property databases, asset management software or grounds maintenance programmes. Customised training programmes and ongoing maintenance and support ensure users gain the maximum benefit from the software.

There are an estimated 1.7 million properties nationwide that are managed by Registered Social Landlords (RSLs), commonly known as housing associations. These organisations, which are sponsored by Central Government, maintain, provide and develop homes and local services for at least 4 million people throughout England. In order to effectively manage their housing stock and provide a wide range of services to their residents RSLs maintain a wealth of information: from simple address databases to payment details, maintenance records to asset databases, most of this information has a geographical element. GGP Move uses this geographical element to manage disparate datasets, link back office applications and improve the management and delivery of services.

GGP provides a complete solution for the creation, maintenance, management and analysis of geographically enabled information, for example an address, postcode or map reference. GGP Systems also offer a range of other solutions including tools for the creation and management of corporate property databases, solutions to meet e-Government directives and geographical training and consultancy.
