The GGP GIS Basic training course should be attended by those with limited or no
previous knowledge of GGP GIS. This is the foundation course for those
who now need to become familiar with GGP, perhaps due to moving to a different
department or undertaking a particular project. Those based at Local
Authorities and external Consultants have gained considerable knowledge from
completing GGP GIS Basic, through to Intermediate courses. Attending
training at Basic level is an effective way of refreshing skills, as well as
being key to progressing to more advanced GGP GIS training courses.
Previous knowledge or experience of using other GIS is advantageous but is not necessary
to obtain the benefits of attending this course.
The Course
This course provides the basic skills for map management, gazetteer
searching, printing, exploring the map, querying overlay data,
measuring areas and distances and some data capture.
