Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue maps out a quicker response with GGP
ggp-cambsfire2 webOctober 2008 - Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is introducing new technology to improve services after becoming one of the first in the country to adopt a new national address database. Using specially developed software from GGP Systems, the use of the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) will initially form the foundation for the Service's risk assessment information and will enable joined up working with partner organisations.  The NLPG will be integrated with every internal database and system enabling the Service to introduce a comprehensive, map based information management architecture.

GGP helps Aberdeen lead moves to national addressing standard

ggp-aberdeencitywebOctober 2008 - Aberdeen City Council has taken a lead in improving the management of public information by implementing property information software from GGP Systems. One of the first local authorities in Scotland to migrate their Corporate Address Database to the latest British Standard BS7666: 2006 Aberdeen City Council is using the advanced gazetteer management solution from GGP, to upload address data to the Scottish National Gazetteer, contributing to the National Gazetteer Programme for Scotland. GGP NGz will also enable Aberdeen City Council to automatically distribute the data to all users of their Geographical Information System (GIS).

Aberdeenshire’s mobile mapping tracks development through GGP’s GIS

ggp-gps aberdeenshirewebSeptember 2008 - Aberdeenshire Council is using the latest satellite and laser technology to monitor developments.  Using a handheld satellite positioning system specifically designed for field mapping applications, a laser distance measurement device and GGP Systems advanced geographical information system (GIS) staff at the Council are accurately mapping development projects, land fill sites and quarries. This field-captured information is then used to ensure that development projects and activities are progressing in accordance with planning permissions, development policy and operating licences.
