GGP Systems Strengthens e-Government Team

ggp-gunnpatel_webCroydon, UK, April 2009 - GGP Systems has expanded the team responsible for creating industry leading e-Government solutions. With the appointment of Duncan M. Gunn as e-Government Team Leader and Prital Patel as e-Government Web Developer, GGP has ensured it has the resources required to develop software and solutions designed to help public sector organisations deliver better and more efficient services to citizens. The expanded team will also be responsible for providing frontline customer support and a full implementation and training programme. ok

Gunn, an experienced development engineer joins GGP Systems from Microsoft Gold Partner Gael Ltd where he worked on various projects having gained a degree in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde. During his nine years with the company Gunn was responsible for the development of Q-Pulse a leading compliance management solution and MindGenius a simple software solution that helps individuals and organisations with a range of issues and opportunities including Meeting Management, Problem Solving, Brainstorming, Mind Mapping and Report Writing.

Patel rejoins GGP Systems after a short sabbatical where he spent time contributing to the web community through various open source projects. During his original time with the company Patel was instrumental in the development and launch to market of one of the first e-Government solutions for the UK Local Authorities. Having progressed from junior title to a Senior Developer position Patel was also responsible for providing consultancy, training and support for GGP's extensive user base.

Speaking at the recent e-Government National Awards dinner Prime Minister Gordon Brown commented on the importance and value of technology, such as that developed by GGP Systems, for delivering better public services, "When times are tough, as they are now, it is more important than ever for government to work as smoothly and efficiently as possible, so it's good to see technology providing real efficiency gains at the same time as increasing the effectiveness of services."

GGP Systems is at the forefront of e-Government software development with eGGP, a browser based Geographical Information System (GIS) application that allows Local Authorities and other organisations to incorporate maps and other geographic information within their website and integrate essential back office resources, such as address databases, with frontline service provision.
